Cant connect to home network (Vista)

    ok so the other day i got my internet turned back on. i plugged my modem and router back up and plug the CPU up ... needless to say nothing happens. So i go into the options mess around with stuff and now it detects something, but it will not connect to internet just says Identifiying... I am connect by hardwire. I can also pick up the Signal wirelessly but cannot connect for some reason. it says its "hidden" network. now my mom has connect on her laptop soooo i know its possible but she doesnt know how she did it.
