  1. Every time i try to boot from my cd-rom to format my hard disk and reinstall windows xp professional again i get this error "The file fastfat.sys is corrupted. Press any key to continue" It only happens when it's in the Blue screen (windows setup) scanning/loading the files. I can't get pass it and get to the hard disk to wipe it.
    What should i do? Thanks.

Heres some info on thje fastfat.sys error and sometimes it can be associated with malware so be aware of this.

Youll need to format your drive using another method like a format tool from the maker of your hard drive or maybe www.bootdisk.com has something like the fresh install XP boot disk Ive seen.

Is your BIOS setup to boot from the CD in the Boot priority?
Be sure your BIOS is setup correctly first.
Then Cold Boot to the CD.

Try cleaning the CD drive. Sounds stupid, but I had the same problem in a laptop I was working on.
