I'm not sure if this is the right area to post the problem as i dont know if it's a hardware or software problem any how, my friend has a dell Dimension 4550 P4 2.6 and a Samsung 48X DVD/CD combo not sure what model number it is, tho i will try and get it.

he is trying to burn audio CD's to play in standard cd players, the problem is the first 2-3 tracks that are burned play fine but after that the rest dont, he's tried buring using MS player V9, and tried burning using different audio qualities but the same thing happens, anyone got any ideas on what the problem might be.

Try burning at a lower speed. If you are burning at max speed, many CD players can't read part or all of the discs. I never burn audio CDs at more than 12x.

And it you're not already doing so, write to HD before you write back to CD. Don't burn on the fly.

Masque: yeah he's already tried that still same problem.
