CD Drive keeps shutting the PC

I have been having this problem of late. Whenever i insert a CD into the CD Drive, the PC restarts. What could be the problem?

I'm assuming you are running XP.

Right click on my computer, then choose "manage" then "event viewer". Click around in there and see what errors are getting reported in there (if any).

Is this something that has just suddenly started happening? Have you made any changes to your computer lately? Does this ONLY happen when you insert a CD?

Probably a good idea to post your computer stats here as well to help us help you.

You also might want to go to Control Panel/System/Advanced/Startup and Recovery and uncheck the option to reboot on failure...
