CDRW Drive

Ok here is the problem i am having.


My CD RW drive will open and close like normal but it will not read or write a cd and it shows up at on my comp. What do i do?

Are you using windows?

Does the drive spin up when you put a cd in it?

Yes i am using Windows XP home edition.

No the cd drive doesnt spin at all when i put in a cd.

Do you see it as a drive listed in my computer?

Check device manager to see if there are any problems.

Have you checked the cables?

No CD

Im having the same problem, I will pop in a cd and nothing happens. I can even go to Windows explorer and double click on the cd-rw drive and it will give me a blank explorer window under that drive. Please help
