Despite of a nearly saturated market, especially in Western Europe, cell phone sales keep increasing, reportedly for the second quarter of this year sales rose by 35 percent compared with the same period last year. An incredible phenomenon which is probably envied by late players and those working in other areas of the technology sector.

Nokia keeps the slot at the top of the vendor tree, having sold more than 46 million handsets in the second quarter--almost double the amount of its nearest rival. However, its quarter-on-quarter market share has fallen from nearly 36 percent in 2003 to almost 30 percent this year.
