Is there a way to change the XP welcome screen that you see when you boot up. Its the blue screen that says "Welcome" on it. I know that you are able to change things in the System properties and would like to change the "Welcome" screen to my own picture.

XP doesn't give you a standard way to change it. But there are programs like WindowsBlinds that do all sorts of "hacks" like that.

I changed mine one time to a Matrix theme, was pretty cool. But all in all I find that NOT hacking up the way XP works, leaves a more stable system :)

1. Make a backup copy of C:\windows\system32\logonui.exe

2. Overwrite the file with your new login screen. (be sure to use the same file name as the old logonui.exe)

3. If you ever want to revert back to the old login screen, just overwrite C:\windows\system32\logonui.exe with your backup.
make sure xp protection is off

good luck
