Chkdsk problem and a host of multiple problems

  1. When I open my XP PC, I always encounter "the Chkdsk utility." I tried to clean it up several times, but it still shows up. Later, I discovered that I have a host of viruses and malware like jaymyka, autoit, downloader.jki, VBworm, and so. I tried AVG but later AVG became corrupted and I cannot uninstall it.

    Would anyone help me in this?

    I've found that chkdsk coming on with every boot can be a sign of harddrive failure, it may be worth running a diagnostic tool over it. The fact you have viruses leans more towards busted/corrupt windows files though. With that many problems i'd be seriously considering a reload of windows, but if this isn't an option work your way through;

    I tried Safe Mode, but all I get is random gibberish I don't understand.

    Do you mean when you first select safe mode? What you are probably just seeing is windows loading the drivers required to start, this is normal when starting safe mode.

    Yeah, but after that, nothing happens. It seems that I am stuck here.

    Sounds to be the best advice

    Do you have your Windows CD and key?

    That's the bad part. I don't have it, I'm sorry.

    Now what to do now I could not boot into Safe Mode?

    You could either skip that step and continue on the instructions, or use a keyfinder (eg jellybean keyfinder) to obtain your windows key from your installation. I only recommend doing this if it's a genuine copy of windows, as you will have difficulty activating it with microsoft otherwise.

    Now, what I do after that? Remember I don't have a WinXP CD. What size of the CD-R I need for the WinXP?
