Choosing a CPU

I have already bought my mobo which is a Asus P5N32-E SLI nForce 680i SLI Socket 775 1333MHz DDR2-800 and 4 gigs of Corsair DDR2 dual channel memory. I'm trying to pick a cpu at the moment. I've been looking at the Intel Q6600 quad or either the E6700 c2d . The prices are already droping on the Intel cpu's and according to the news the Q6600 will be around $266.00 by July 22. I just don't know which cpu will perform best. Any suggestions would be appreciated. By the way I'm new to the fourm and would like to say hello to everyone.

Get the Q6600. It may not be as fast as the 6700/6800, but it will be worth it to have a quad core in the future.

That was my thinking also but I just wanted to be reassured I guess. So when the prices drop I'll be ordering the Q6600. What do you suggest for a cpu cooler?
