Colors blotch randomly on Acer LCD Monitor

Hello there,

On my Acer LCD monitor, I seem to have a problem with colors blotching radomly. They appear according to what's on the screen. So they change around.

I've tried different PCs, different brand graphics cards, and securing the cable.

Other than suggest you reset the monitors settings back to default, I would think that if this does not work the thing is faulty. If you are in the UK I know someone who can fix it for you if not under warranty so PM me for the contact details.

hmmm i think u should lastly try another new cable and reset to factory default...
otherwise, i second Albert... try to contact Acer for replacement if it's under warranty....

Unfortunately I live in Australia, and the monitor is not under warranty any longer. I will however hunt down another cable when I get home this arvo. Thanks a bunch, and I hope it helps!

Well I tried out a different cable, and it did not help at all. I guess it's for the bin. Well, I can still use it. Just not for anything but general use.

This is probably silly but,

Stray magnetic fields will make a monitor blotchy. Even shielded speakers will if they're placed incorrectly.

Magnetic fields will cause odd colours on CRT monitors but not LCDs. Judging by the images, this is something else and if plugging it into another PC ges the same results the fault has to be with the monitor. Sorry but if you cannot get it fixed locally I would cut my losses and replace it.

Haha I thought it would come to that. Fortunately monitor's come cheap nowadays.
