completely destroyed my notebook

the other day my notebook told me that i had lost a system 32 dll file and it needed to be reinstalled. somehow i completely screwed up and now my operating system isnt recognizing. is there something i can do to reformat my hard drive or atleast erase it and start back new??? PLEASE HELP

boot from the Recovery Disk that came with the system. It will restore the
system to the state of day-1

i tried

it keeps telling me that my partition is not able to format. i tried the operating system redovery disk and the driver disk but neither worked.
