Computer Beeeeps When Turned On

Hi. I had a emachines T1600 that was working fine. I recently purchased a notebook and gave the T1600 to a friend. When he plugged it in and went to turn it on all he gets is a beeping. The monitor is blank. He can't get passed the beep. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

He needs to open it up and make sure all the cards and ram are in properly.

Thank you so much for your speedy reply. I called my friend to tell him and before I had a chance to tell him he said he opened it up and the ram had been jarred a little. Now it is wokring...Thanks again...Trvlmnstr :bounce:
