    Hi,

I have an unusual problem with my PC as it starts up
IF i have a disk inserted (Any Disk) when i boot up my PC it makes that Tick, Whine noise about 4 times at my Motherboard screen then when it goes to the next screen with all that confusing code on it then it says Disk Error, please insert system boot disk and press enter.

i get annoyed at this point so i take the disk out and restart. wallah it starts perfectly

It seems it only does this when i have any kind of **** inserted prior to starting up
Its not a huge problem but its very annoying when someone else doesn't take the disk out.

Anyone got any ideas on whats going on (BTW i build mine and my friends PC's but don't bother with the in depth stuff)

    Thanks

Sounds like a faulty boot disk

But there was a thread somewhere (no idea where it is now) that had a similar fault with the computer nt starting without a disk in the drive.
I think the answer was that the CD drive was faulty, and required replacing
