75db? That is disgusting. Sick and disgusting. I get better temps (CPU - 32C full load and overclocked 650MHz, Chipset - about 27C load) at a fraction of the noise (35-40db, and by decibel standards [noise level doubles every 3db] holds true). And most of the noise comes from my 5 hard drives, not even fans...

But if that's the way you like and can stand it, ok...

My cpu stays around 60-65 F and system runs about 30 hotter.
My video card runs idle at 43C.
One 80mm intake and a PCI slot exhaust fan.

Theres another 92mm intake fan but it has a plastic air duct directing the air flow right onto the cpu fan. If I take the duct out, the overall temp raises about 4 degrees :)

I've replaced all but one ribbon cable with rounded cables. Haven't noticed much of a difference with that, but the case is SUPER small. A H-P mini-tower :p

Might want to watch out, as installing different IDE cables my void your HP warranty...:D

don't have to worry about that, just opening the case can void some warranties.

Hi. new to these boards. was doing research on what my case temperature should be like on my pc and ran into this thread.

    PC Specs are currently:
    ASUS PC-DL Deluxe Motherboard
    (2) Pentium Xeons 2.6 ghz
    1 gig ddr (pc2700)
Geforce FX 5750 ultra (for now)
    (2) WD 60 gig 7200 rpm hardrives
    Thermaltake Lanfire 2000 case.

I have my temp gauge just inside the case, near the processors but not connected to either one. On boot up. I run around 30 c and jump up to about 40 c after about an hour.

I have the 4 fans that the Case came with and the two heat syncs the Xeons brought and thats about it. Is 30-40 c good for dual processing? Also, I'm upgrading very soon to two 10,000 rpm Raptor SATA drives on a raid.

Theres virtually no room in my case to add addition fans. Any ideas on how to improve my cooling?

Welcome to TechSpot with your first post. Enjoy your time here!

As to your question, your temps are WELL withing range. I wouldn't worry about trying to cool her any more.

    Just my $.02

Check your CPU temps. 40C ambient is horrible (IMHO), with stock cooling your dual Xeons must be running at like 55-60C. My ambient temp is usually around 20-25C. Your room must be hot.
It shouldn't be that big of a deal, but if you plan on keeping your $600 pair of processors around for a few years you might look into getting better cooling. Small, thermally unefficient cases (LANFire) aren't designed to hold 2 processors.

My ambient is about 15-20C and the CPU runs at around 40C maxing out at 43C after extensive gaming, esspecially if the computer has been on all day.

Prior to installing / replacing the 2 case fans with £2 LED colourBurst ones, and also cleaning the cpu fan, I was often hitting 57C

It pays to have good air flow, and clean kit.
