"Connected" but can't browse!!??!!

  1. Hey.

    I'm running XP. My taskbar and ISP technician both say i'm connected to the internet on my ADSL, USB modem. However, I can't browse, update software, use P2P program or send mail. Have tried disabling anti-virus, firewall; fiddling with DNS, proxy, and all that stuff. The ISP technician was stumped. Any ideas?

    have you deleted or had trouble with file sharing program
    like kazaa
    as mentioned there is a fix for this
    winsocfix and there was another one, name eludes me at moment ah now I remember
    lspfix.zip
