Connecting a docking station with USB C cable to my Surface Pro 4

Hi there, as the title suggests, I have a HP docking station with a USB C connection cable, which works nicely with my work Elite x2 but I would like to know if I can swap out my work laptop for my personal Surface pro 4 and somehow adapt the USB C cable to fit to either the Mini Display Port or the USB 3.0 port on my SP 4?
