Copying CDs to hard drive

I am probably doing something wrong but when I try to put songs from my CD collection to my Audio files Then try to play them from the HDD they won't play....

Is there software to do this?
Can they be saved as MP3s
To copy them I Highlight, Copy then paste to my music folder.

You need to RIP the songs to convert them to MP3. Windows Media Player will do it. Just open Windows Media Player put the cd in the drive and click the RIP button on WMP. There are other programs that rip music just do a search.

I figured it out yesterday! My sound blaster software has a rip function. Thanks.
