corrupt registry in windows xp

  1. I don't know if this is the right place but, here is my problem I am running windows xp and my registry is corrupt. It doesn't recognize many of my drivers including my audio drivers. How can I fix this problem without reformatting my computer?

    Corrupt registries normally prevent booting.

    What do you mean by 'doesn`t recognize many drivers' ?

    Error messages ?

    Try System Restore,first. Use the Add hardware wizard.
