Cox cable speedtest shows slower speeds on purpose for competitors

I was just looking into changing to cox cable and I went to their website. I noticed I can check their speedtest to see what I am getting with my current provider. Supposedly ran by ookla. It said I was getting 10 down. Ookla real site says 40. Frontiers speed test says 40 down. Century links speed test says 40 down. Unless they are testing you against a server on the moon this is some kind of slander. How can this be legal?

I did a simple google search and it doesn't seem like anyone else has noticed. I wonder how much higher they rig their results since they post fake results for other companies.

I'm not surprised. I've found Cox to overall be dreadful in terms of customer service, billing, tech, whatever.
