Personally I wouldn't use one for free...be always skeptical about magical boxes that supposedly increase the audioquality. Well, actually it could make some poor systems sound better but all measurements I've seen show increased levels of bas and treble and more troublesome the distosion levels which skyrocket. (I'm happy with my extrememusic - crystalizer turned off of course)
