Hi,

I want to buy new monitor and I wonder if TFT is good as CRT ?
I use my pc for internet, movies and music......I dont play games.
What is the best 19" monitor out there and is it better with TFT or is CRT still better for movies and pictures ?

regards

CRT (cathode ray tube) is a proven, cheaper, older technology that uses a tv tube. good crt monitors can be had for under $200 (USD).

TFT (thin film transistor) is a newer, more expensive technology for flat panel LCD-type displays. tft displays have a reaction time spec, for gaming you'll want a reaction time of no more than 12ms. a good tft display will usually run you upwards of $400 (USD)

it generally costs nearly half as much to get a tft display's crt equivalent.

Actually a 12ms TFT display(17") will only run you about $200.00

I would recommend either of these two displays. :giddy:

Or if you want an 8ms:

This one is a little more expensive. If you just look around the net a bit you can find some great deals on monitors, refurbished or not.

If you work in a sunlit room or want excellent movie quality then you should get a CRT.
