Daily BSOD and freezing

So I built a system for my friend, it's similar to mine and hooked up the same way and mine is working fine.

here is his rig info:

GIGABYTE GA-870A-UD3
AMD Athlon II X4 640
CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W
XFX HD-583X-ZAFV Radeon HD 5830 1GB
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

He keeps getting this the BSOD he keeps getting (please copy and paste, it won't let me post links)

and sometimes gets one with the header PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA or DATA BUS ERROR

Upon that, sometimes his computer will freeze at the Gigabyte screen, or it will freeze on the Loading Windows screen or it won't even show anything on the screen at all.

If he pulls out the videocard and puts in an old one, it works sometimes...

Also, when he plays games it's fine, but as soon as he exits the game, he will blue screen

any possible reasons this could be happening?
