Hi, i wanna sell my laptop away but i wanna make sure that my info in the hard disk (eg: pics, passwords, documents) is entirely wipe out, even those that i've previously deleted using only recycle bin.

Im currently using Paragon Disk Wiper 8.5 professional, which was recommended by a friend, but i wasnt sure if its effective enough to clear my hard disk.

    So, any recommendations? thank you.

Paragon Disk Wiper is fine. A few others include Darik's Boot and Nuke and Active@ Kill Disk.

spybot S&S has a built in wipe tool, so does crap cleaner.

    Both are free.

thanks for the reply, i do have crap cleaner, but it can only do a permanent delete to an existing file in windows.

I have reformatted my com before and i wanna make sure my pics and data on my previous OS is permanently deleted.

Im currently using Paragon Disk WIper 8.5 professional. But im not sure whether it has overwritten my data that i had previously deleted cause it shows this message on the "view sector" section:

"NTLDR is mising please press ctrl alt delete to restart the com"

Therefore im not sure whether it has successfully rewrite my data lol.

DBAN(Darik's Boot and Nuke) is the best wiped programe. After using ur HD goes to factory state(mean raw state).

glarysoft glary utilites also has a wipe function. I just double checked crap cleaner, the wipe function doesn't appear to be there anymore.

But spybot and glarysoft both have it.

Tedster, I believe he wants to totally wipe the drive free of data, my apologies if I'm wrong.

Zenosincks, or anyone who had used DBAN before.
    ..is it really effective?

i wanna make sure that my datas are 100% unrecoverable. Or is there better software out there? i dont mind paying provided my datas are 100% gone, and as long as its lesser than $40. lol. I know of a few software, but wasnt sure of its effectiveness. Any recommendation?

    Thanks in advanced.

Eh, I've used Darik's Boot and Nuke a few times with success.
