I recently installed Seagate 160 GB hard drive in a ADS technologies Hard drive enclosure and connected it to my machine via a USB port. I have been receiving the following message on and off when I am saving or downloading some files to the drive.
Delayed Write Failed
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file drive_letter:\file_path\file_name. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.
I dont get this message to any of the drives connected to my IDE channels. I have not tried this hard drive by connecting it as an internal drive.
The drive is NTFS formatted with two 80 GB partitions and is conencted to my computer via a USB 1.1 port (the enclosure is USB 2.0). My machine is a 1.1 GHz Celeron with 160 MB memory, with 80 GB and 13.6 GB internal hard drives running Windows XP Pro SP2.
Has anyone come across this before? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
