  1. I have a 4+yr old Dell Dimension 8200 P4/200ghz that I would like to upgrade memory on. It currently has the original Rambus memory at only 256mb. Do I have to use DRAM memory or if I toss the original Rambus memory (RAMBUS INLINE MEMORY MODULE, 128, 400M, 64X16, 4C, 40) can I use a less expensive type of memory as a replacement?

    Thanks

RAMBUS and DRAM are not interchangable. RAMBUS is proprietary. Please read the installing ram guide in the guide forum. The only ram you can use is from DELL itself. RAMBUS is also obsolete now.
