    Dell Latitude C800 Laptop

    I have been told to come here and ask if there is anyone who could help me out with my sons secondhand laptop. While reading all the posts and non replies I am pretty sure that I will get the same response (none :haha: ).

    If there is in fact a way to fix this grey password screen from showing up as soon as i turn on the laptop, could someone help me out please because he really needs it for school projects and essays.

    it says;

    This computer system, #796LQ01-595B, is protected by a password authentication system. You cannot access the data on this computer without the correct password.

    (under that says)

    Please type the primary or administrative password and press <Enter>.

    Service Tag - 796LQ01
    Express Code - 15792763105

    I paid 300 for this thing, so any help would be great.

    Thanks in advance.

    Ok first off I would like to say thanks again Rustam, i can now enter the bios area. Now that i am there, i cannot put in the primary password (it keeps saying invalid) so that i can change the settings in the bios area and boot from cdrom!

    Am i doing something wrong or is it a different password altogether?

    Thanks Again!

    (By the by, when I said earlier that my client would be paying me $40 CDN - that's for the labour and time involved in getting the laptop unlocked, since I'm doing all her research for her. I'm not charging for the password itself)

    Rustam,

    I tried the 3 links at the bottom of your last charitable posting yesterday along with many others. A friend of mine who is a single parent without much money bought a used Inspiron 6000 for his son for school. It appears to have be BIOS password protected as it says, "This computer system #1P16091-595B is protected by a password....". The original owner of this laptop died unexpectedly recently and now it is of no use to anybody. Can you help us out?
    Thank you for considering this request.
