  1. Hi everyone, I have been having problems with my Dell Inspiron N5010 since yesterday. I was playing for an hour with my laptop cooler on but when I quit the game the temps were still high. My CPU stays at 65C-70C so does the PCH 70C-75C when doing nothing. The fan runs at full speed but it seems that it can't cool down. When I shut down the computer for 15 minutes it gets normal but after running for 2 or 3 hours it gets hot again . I cleaned the fan 3 weeks ago and it's been only 2 months since I bought the laptop. Here are my specs:
    CPU - Intel Core i5 2.9Ghz
    RAM - 2x2GB DDR III
Video Card - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 1GB
    Chipset - Intel Ironlake- M-IMC

All help would be appreciated :)

Since it is only 2 months old, I would open a Chat with Dell Support.
It could be something defective, could be bad processor contact with the CPU cooler. We had one the sealant was crystalized it had gotten so hot.

That's the problem, the laptop has no warranty since I opened it to clean the fan

Thanks friend, I thought it was from the thermal compound too, but somehow the CPU hasn't been making problems for the past two days only the PCH stays above 60C but cools down easily :)
