Hello, I just bought a Latitude E6400 to update it a little and then donate it to a needy family with 3 school-age kids who have nothing to work and do homework. The laptop is from about 2011/2012 service tag 5H115L1 but has been upgraded to Win 10 Pro. I changed the CMOS battery, the battery and the charger. It works fine, but I do hear a high-pitch whining coming from the Hard drive which is the original DELL 100GB. My question: Does this high-pitch whining mean that the HD is bad or is it normal? If it is bad or about to go bad, which would be the best replacement & compatible option? The whining sounds like a passenger jet engine and when the laptop is turned-off it winds-down just like it also... Thanks for your support in advance!
