Desktop wouldn't come back to the living

I've had this desktop for a few years and never had a problem with it... well 'til last week. I left the desktop on standby overnight and when I woke up in the morning, it was dead and wouldn't turn back on. It makes no sound whatsoever when I push the power button. Well I am really clueless on what's going on. This computer is pretty old and heavily used so I guess this kind of things is going to happen sooner or later. Also before it died, I've been hearing loud humming noices (maybe from the fan) when it is booing up. If anyone can help me fixed up my old buddy -- I'd really greatly appreciate it. Thanks much =).

if you have access to another power supply you can check to see if it is a PSU issue. but from what you have posted it is very possible that your CPU fan failed and your CPU fried.
