Despite Elon Musk promising not to ban it, the Twitter account following his jet has been...

LOL, you guys? "Free speech" means the government can't silence you. None of that applies to a private company. I can't believe I'm having to type this.

Your are referring specifically to the 1st Amendment. "Free Speech" is a principle. One can support it without specifically referring to the 1st Amendment.

That said... much of the speech that was limited on Twitter was at the request of the federal government.

It's hilarious hey. People actually think they have "rights" over other peoples servers because they let them post their twits there.

Musky was all "yay, free speech for Twitter" before, though I think the reality of how many askholes there is is sinking in for him now.

Not fulfilling somebody's expectations as a Democrat does not male one a Republican... in much the same way that many "RINOs" are not Democrats.
Well of course it doesn't. Musk is the sole member and president of the "AHEM" party. (All Hail Elon Musk)

That's what the previous Twitter management believe, hence BLM and other racist terror groups were never banned. Now its different.
Elon Musk explicitly stated he does not endorse permabans and that he would lift the ones already in effect so far as it relates to hate speech and misinformation. He also said that he would not go after the account tracking his jet using completely public information, and he was quite specific.
There is no going around the fact that he lied. Clearly, this is not about free speech as he proclaimed.

Again... not a lie if someone changes their mind about something. If everybody who ever changed their mind was lying, then everybody on the planet would be a liar. Lying requires intention.

As for "completely public information"... if you are walking in public, your location is observable by and available to the public. If some stranger constantly reports your public location on social media, that is stalking... regardless of the legality of the source of the information.

The purpose of flight tracking is so that those affected can be aware of the location of objects in the sky. It does not exist so that specific people can be tracked. If someone is using it for that purpose (to what benefit, exactly?), then they are abusing the system. It maybe shows the need for reform of the system... but even before that happens, no, stalking is not okay.
