Diagnostic Mystery Problem--BSoD

I have a Sony Vaio FZ2430E, and it just recently out of nowhere decided to give me a blue screen of death when i boot it up, every single time. The blue screen error is different each time, and it won't even let me install a new version of windows or go into safe mode (even command prompt) without crashing. Upon trying to install windows XP, it tells me there is no hard drive installed, yet it sometimes will boot up into windows for a few minutes before crashing again. In the BIOS the computer recognizes that the Hard drive is there. One of the most common blue screen errors I see has "Memory management" or "Fatal system error" at the top. It sounds like a motherboard issue but I'm not sure. This machine runs hot and never gets turned off. No recent installation of parts or upgrades of any kind. The system specs are listed below.

OS: Winwdows 7 Ultimate

Ram: 2GB DDR2

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

overheating can cause a lot of problems. your ram and / or system might be fried. Have you ever cleaned it?
