I am running an Epox 8rga motherboard with Athlon XP2.8, and have been having ram problems and blue screens. I think I've sorted that but I always on startup see "disconnector" flashing on a blank screen, half the time it aborts start up and takes me to the option screen for starting normally or not.

Is this a problem I can deal with and if so how?

I bought this PC second hand and it had XP Pro on it and that was corrupt so I did a full install of XP Home to get it working. The option to start using XP Pro or Home appears on startup. Are any vestiges of Pro like this likely to be a problem needing sorting?

    can no one help???

this is no fun, I keep getting problems on starting up and worry that one time it won't start again.

Hi, I would use either home or pro, boot from the cd, delete the current partitions (both), create a new partition in unpartitioned space, do a full format in ntfs and install Windows. That will get rid of any Windows problems you might have.
