Display as a "window"

I thought that a display of about 5X5 ft could function as a "window" that you could display different landscapes and scenery the option of a better window, has this been achieved and if so what is the cost and most importantly if its gonna function as a window it has to be crisp so what would the resolution have to be to grant the otherworldly experience?
