Do SLI cards have to be identical??

I remember reading the the cards had to have the same bios for nForce 3 boards but with nForce 4 the cards just have to be the same series. I have an EVGA 7900GT and can get a really good deal on an MSI 7900GT that looks identical including the same cooler.

The two cards must also be the same make and model for SLI to work. It should also be noted that identical cards may also require identical BIOS revisions. A recent driver revision from NVIDIA now allows cards from two separate retail companies to work together in SLI mode, but they must be the same make and model as stated above
