Do sound card have front panel connectors?

  1. I am currently running an Intel 965WH motherboard with the included sound function. I have never been able to get the sound functions to work very well. Sound is weak and front panel connections are iffy. I finally got the headphone jack to work, but still nmicrophone. I have updated drivers, played with settings etc. I am thinking about using a stand alone sound card. But one of the questions I have is if sound cards typically include front panel headers? If so, what should I look for in the description that would indicate presence?

I have a Creative SB X-Fi XtremeGamer that has header pins for the front panel. I've never tested the microphone jack but the headphone jack works fine. Take a look at its description and specifications to see how it describes it.
