Driver Needed

I have a slide to digital photo converter converter that I purchased in or around 2008. I purchased it from Hammacher Schlemmer. The software that came with it was for Widows 7 or XP. I am now running Windows 10 and I need a driver for this scanner. I do not know the manufacturer. Windows 10 recognizes it as an OVT scanner in the Device manager. I get an error message as follows:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Object Name not found.

I contacted Hammacher Schlemmer and they advised me to buy a new scanner. All I need is a driver for this device. I have searched for hours trying to obtain a driver to no avail. Can anyone advise?

Goto properties for the device in Device Manager. There will be a Details tab and a dropdown list. Look for Hardware ID in the dropdown list.

This hardware ID can be used as a clue to what you have.

It just states OVT Scanner.

I'm not having much luck with "OVT Scanner". Seems to be OmniVision. But I'm not certain.

Does the scanner have a model number printed on it?

No model number just a serial number. I tried searching but no luck.
