Dual lan

im looking to get a mobo with that has dual lan, what exactly is the point of it and if i hook both of them up to my router ill i be able to have an internet 2x as fast?

getting 2 lan connection to your router is unnessesary and will not make internet access any faster. dual lan is used mostly for network bridging or related tasks.
