Is anyone able to HELP me!!

I have just bought a nec 8x dvd-rw i have set it up in my computer. it was all working fine. and later that day i was playing on one of my games, and about 20 mins into the game everything just shut down, and if i were to press the power button nothing happens. Inside the psu that fan will spin soon as i hit the power button, then it stops.
it just wont come on atall.

If sombody has any ideas please let me know,
as i would be really greatful

    thank you

First you may be using more power than your PSU supplies. Try unplugging the new device and try powering on the machine again. It sounds like the PSU is struggling.

    my psu ...

My PSU should be able to handle as it is a 400W, before i had bought this 8x dvd-rw it was running a standard 52 x cd-drive, cd-rw and a dvd player.

    any other suggestions

    please get back to me

    thank you

Do you have any CDs/DVDs in the drive(s)? These take a lot of power to spin up.
