What is the best software for ripping DVD's to your hard drive?
And also what do you think would be the best codec to compress them?

    Cheers

    Here you go:

    http://easydivx.does.it/

If you can't operate this then there is something wrong with you. :monkey:

Apart from downloading it and running it, the only other "task" you will be faced with is having to actually place the DVD disk in your drive ;)

Oh, and about 6 mouse clicks or so. Nothing else to worry about. Its not called EasyDivx for nothing and when you run it you will see why.

EasyDivx represents a great all-in-one solution that you would have to be brain damaged :dead: not to know how to work.

Please bare in mind that this software should be used to make backups of DVDs that you have legitimately purchased and do own, and not for piracy because that's illegal, and people who do it are bad...... ;)

If they will be used exclusively on your hard drive then DiVX, as Phantasm said, is your best bet. If you have a DVD player that supports SVCD playback then I would have to recommend DVD2SVCD - it's a very simple way to get from start to finish.

I'm a big fan of SmartRipper & Flask...Haven't used them in awhile though.
