  1. Some sad news to report for all of you FIFA Manager fans out there. The franchise founder, Gerald Köhler, has announced that FIFA Manager 14 will be the last title in the long running Football management simulator series. According to...

And perhaps the fact that the largest video game market in the world thinks soccer (football) is a sport for kids. I'm not trying to offend... I know it's the most popular sport in the world, probably by a lot, but the gaming population is getting older and here in America soccer starts to take a back seat to American Football, basketball and baseball.

  3. You know that there are other countries than US ? Since 2010 the game didn't change that much, making gamers to loose their interest..

Did you know he addressed that in his post? I mean, I know my scope is limited since im from the US, but I think reading comprehension has caught on by now in your country, ya?

MilwaukeeMike, I'm quite sure there are two games made by EA. FIFA(insert year) and FIFA Manager(insert year). The first one is still going pretty strong, the second is more of a niche genre. I haven't played a soccer game in over a decade, so this is just my best guess.

Football management games are a niche market, and more so in the US, but 'soccer' is a massive sport in the rest of the world so there is a market for it nonethe less.

Football Manager is the better management game and they sell around 1 million copies which is over double what Fifa manager sold.

I thought FIFA Manager died a long time ago... last time I heard of this was probably in 2009 when they were announcing that they had a 3D match engine.

And I was still playing FM 2008. FIFA Manager really wasn't even close in competing against FM.

Normal FIFA is huge! I think I remember seeing FIFA 12 sold 4-5 million copies in it's first week. FM is niche and we agree upon that.

"I know it's the most popular sport in the world" has been said in this chain of posts and there is no disagreement there. The guest's comment was unwarranted, he can take that xenophobia elsewhere.

  8. If football starts to take a back seat to American Football, basketball .etc that doesn't mean the same thing happens in the rest of the world, that was my point. For a guy who is not playing "soccer games" you are out of this topic.
