Edge Browser -> 'Switch to New Tab Page Immediately' has morphed into 'Flashing the Edge icon in TaskBar' - How do I get the old functionality back?

You gotta love the constant updates to the Windows 10 OS. So, the old behavior in Microsoft's Edge browser was to immediately switch to a new tab page when you clicked on a link from the Microsoft Mail application. Now, the Edge icon in the taskbar simply flashes an orange color acting as a subtle hint that something has happened related to the Edge browser.

Does anybody know how I can get the old functionality back? Please let me know. Thanks!
