Elon Musk cancels Don Lemon's show on X before debut following "tense" interview

Incorrect. Actually Musk stated from the beginning that the purchase of Twitter wasn't a financial profit venture, but intended rather as a social investment.

Haha, well please don't do us any more favors Musk! No really. We insist.

It's amusing that you would attach any value to what this guy has to say about himself. It reminds me of the somewhat famous J.P. Morgan quote - "A man generally has two reasons for doing a thing. One that sounds good, and a real one."

If only you were this generous in ascribing well meaning to so many other people.

Utter nonsense. Musk is allowing Lemon to speak freely on Twitter. Lemon doesn't want "free" speech. What Lemon wants is for Twitter to pay him for his speech.

You misunderstood, that was Lemon's quote, it was him that was questioned why Musk would not suppress speech that Lemon disagreed with, (ie, Hate speech, which the term lost all meaning, because the left call any speech they don't agree with, hate speech).

Edit for sp

I don't listen to his words: his actions speak far louder. After assuming control of Twitter, one of his first acts was the release of the so-called "Twitter Files" -- information highly damaging to the value of his asset -- but one that revealed the corrupt depths of iniquity to which Twitter had sunk under prior management. Any person concerned primarily with their own wallet would have forever buried these disclosures. Musk also, in the year 2022 alone, gave nearly $6B to charity and, since the Ukraine war began, has donated more than $300M in free airtime to its citizens. You hung a blue-and-yellow flag in your rear window, then drove off to buy another six-pack.

Lemon said, to quote: "Free speech is only important when someone you don‘t like, or I would say someone who doesn‘t have your same point of view, if they‘re allowed to speak freely and to say their point of view. Apparently, that doesn‘t matter to Elon Musk."

Lemon is being allowed to speak freely on Twitter. He's simply no longer going to be *paid* by Twitter for that privilege. Lemon's statement was the very apotheosis of hypocrisy.

I meant you misunderstood my original post, it was about Lemon wanting to suppress speech he did not agree with, not Musk.

Once again, its amazing how many people can't cope and make up lies about Elon, just to hate on him. If you are going to hate on someone, do it for the truth.

Haters know, accepting the truth/facts means getting ideologically owned by Elon/General Populace and having to deal with embarrassment/anger... all because you allowed yourself to be manipulated.

Don Lemon is a shill for George Soros & Co. Nuff said, who is ever going to defend Soros and his podophilic enterprise...?

I coulda guessed your argument would eventually boil down to something like the 'but, Hunter Biden's laptop' trope!

He's not being hypocritical. He doesn't have to answer questions on these things. He doesn't have have to answer questions that could damage his business. The big issue here is Don's character and that is why he was really fired. Imagine giving someone an opportunity only for them to plan on stabbing you in the back to further their sinking career. Sorry but Don is not worth defending.
That's your opinion, and you are certainly welcome to it.

Musk offered him the "opportunity" to start a show on "X", and that is what this article is about. Then when the questions got tough for Musk, not unlike what happened between Mace and Stephanopoulos, Musk caved and said, "I don't like what you are saying. F-you and your show. I gave you a chance to be my little pet and make me money. Too bad. You abused me. You're Fired".

It is Musk's right to do so, but it clearly emphasizes the point that Musk will suppress anyone, in one way or another, even if Musk has not banned his account from X, for saying anything that Musk does not like. That is not Free Speech, in my opinion.

A more rational person would have answered the question, but Musk, in the heat of the question, was dumbfounded and replied in the only way he knew how.

Lemon should lift his middle finger at Musk, IMO, and take his show elsewhere. Personally, I could care less about Lemon. I never watched him, and I will never listen to his podcast where ever it ends up.

Oh the hilarity of conspiracy theories. 🤣

Again you're not looking at the reason he was fired. Elon was dumbfounded because he was giving the guy an opportunity only for Don to try and make him look bad. This is a character issue. This was a shady stunt and Don is trash human. And again just because he agreed to do an interview doesn't mean he has to answer anything Don the snake ask him.

I could care less about Lemon. I never watched him, and I will never listen to his podcast where
Right...actually no one cares. If he can't make it on CNN he surely won't make it on his own.

"Musk's explanation for why the show was being canceled came in the form of a post that read, "His [Lemon's] approach was basically just 'CNN, but on social media', which doesn't work, as evidenced by the fact that CNN is dying. And, instead of it being the real Don Lemon, it was really just Jeff Zucker talking through Don, so lacked authenticity.""

Pretty much spot on. Don Lemon is disingenuous jerk and instead of trying to do fair interviews, he starts in with the thinly-veiled attacks.

"While Elon goes back on his word, I will be doubling down on my commitment to free speech,"

Don has never had a commitment to free speech. You can simply look at his public statements on CNN and social media platforms to see he's never been a free speech advocate.

You are illustrative of the problem in America, can't be truthful to yourself.

That is NOT what happened. And how you are portraying it is laughable. Don Lemond could've started his career out at X however He liked, instead He tried to do a piece on Elon Musk... and didn't even manage to get threw the Interview without attacking someone for having a soul.

Don Lemon got fired because he is insufferable and his content is the same ole "cry-me-river" persecution of his fragility.

Lemon can't take his show anywhere, he has no audience.... its the same drivel. Cancelled!

Tesla is coming apart - in part, IMO, because of all the brilliant things he's doing, and in part, because real automobile manufacturers are finally entering the EV market with better offerings.
What fantasy world are you living in?

"...Tesla revenue for the twelve months ending December 31, 2023 was $96.773B, a 18.8% increase year-over-year...
  • ... Tesla annual revenue for 2022 was $81.462B, a 51.35% increase from 2021....
....According to analyses by Cox Automotive, Tesla sales accounted for 55% of all EVs sold in the US in 2023...

Tesla's market share is shrinking ... but only because the overall market is growing so quickly, not because Tesla's sales are declining.

Lemon should lift his middle finger at Musk, IMO, and take his show elsewhere...
Who'd have him? He was already fired from CNN for unethical behavior, and his audience figures were abysmal long before that.

Some more fuel for thought....

" Don Lemon demanded the sun, the moon and the stars from the SpaceX boss – before being unceremoniously dumped this week, The Post has learned.

The ex-CNN anchor sent over an astronomical wish list to Elon Musk during contract talks to host a show on the billionaire’s social media platform X – including a free Tesla Cybertruck, a $5 million upfront payment on top of an $8 million salary, an equity stake in the multibillion-dollar company, and the right to approve any changes in X policy as it relates to news content, according to a document reviewed by The Post.

Lemon — who was expected to air an interview with Musk for next week’s debut episode on X — had also demanded a private jet flight to Las Vegas, a suite for him and his fiance, and that the company pay for their day drinking and massages, a source with knowledge of the situation said.

Musk agreed to do the interview with Lemon despite the fact that he was aware of some of Lemon’s outlandish demands, sources told The Post. "
