Earlier, in another sacked post, I put in some pictures from the holocaust museum, as testament to, "the fruits of Adolf Hitler's labors", as compared to a few trucks being towed away.
I don't think most people would take into account poor little Adolf's struggles, or lost elections, into the overall impression of his notorious and murderous infamy. That's the picture of him we are left with, and that's the context by which he's judged. So, you simply can't draw or mitigate a comparison.between Trudeau's actions, and the horrors of Auschwitz.
You're not looking at the bigger picture of how a democratic country turns into a dictatorship, which in the case of Nazi Germany, took 8 years to lead to genocide.
In 2017 Trudeau set the precedent for policing speech with Bill C-16.
Policing speech was justified by being empathetic to trans people and trans rights.
In 2020, Trudeau banned a hundred thousand legal firearms from law abiding citizens.
The ban was justified by a criminal using an illegally acquired gun to kill people.
Also, in 2020, Trudeau declared a state of emergency, setting the precedent for revoking freedoms at a moment's notice.
The state of emergency was justified by keeping people safe.
In 2021 Trudeau funded provinces to segregate society, setting another precedent.
Segregating society was also justified by keeping people safe.
Also in 2021, Trudeau began demonizing those who chose not to take the vaccine by labelling them racists and misogynists. In 2022 he demonized the Freedom Convoy as homophobic, racists, transphobic, and white supremacists...
In 2022 Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act, revoking freedoms and setting another precedent, taking control away from individual provinces and having the ability to seize political opponents finances and property.
Giving the federal government ultimate control was justified by claiming provinces were incapable of resolving the situation (despite them already resolving border blockades).
Policing speech, disarming citizens, segregating society, demonizing opposition, seizing control from provinces, seizing bank accounts and property of opposition...
Now, I'll agree, at this point; he's nowhere near Hitler, at least not Hitler of 1938, and especially not Hitler of 1941. So making that comparison isn't right. But if you look at the bigger picture, Canada is going down a very dark path.
