Do you know what model # and/or what CPU socket your mobo is/has?

If you just bought that motherboard, I suggest you return it NOW. Socket 754 was replaced long ago by socket 939 which has been replaced by socket AM2 which will soon be replaced by LGA1207. So as you can see that is a VERY obsolete board that is becoming more obsolete with each passing day. Return it and get a LGA775 board or a socket AM2 board.
