Exchange Server Admin - Nervous

    We currently have an email forwarding service to our Exchange Server. They handle the spam/virus et al protection before it hits our server. We're looking to consolidate all our connection services/web hosting etc.
    My question: Is there anything we need to consider in terms of managing our email in-house via basic DNS forwarding vs a managed service? Is it a complicated process if we already have SBS 2003? Am I freaking out unnecessarily?
