FCC chair proposes upgrading broadband standard to 100Mbps down, 20Mbps up

The climate will always change. Will be hot a century, cold a century and nothing you do with what mankind does will change that. It's hot this year, but we are getting more rain than I can remember. It's wonderful. Usually a very hot summer brews a very cold winter. Funny how that happens.

Climate change. If you really think anything we do will affect and control climate change, then there is no use arguing. The only thing we are doing with "Green" is producing extremely toxic products that don't decompose.
"The climate will always change" is one the most irrational and uninformed excuse you can use (to put it lightly).

The idea that "it's just nature doing its thing, so let's do nothing" makes zero sense.

Just say it as it really is: you only care about the money, the next generation can just f off.

So you think man can regulate mother nature. Good luck with that. That whole Green thing has swept up peoples ability to think with reason. The only thing Green is a Tree. Not the chemicals that make up the "Green" Batteries. Not the Fiberglass that makes up the "Green" wind turbines. It all sounds nice on paper and makes people feel good.

Being "Green" has to make sense to have any credence with me. Like my family. We grown a lot of our own herbs and veggies. We use the bamboo that grows in the back as stakes for the larger crops. We recycle all kind of items around us. No need to buy or manufacture. Those are things that make sense.

You are confusing "destroying" with "regulating". Yes, I think that humanity (not one individual, but many) can do it and is doing it.

It's not exactly hard to do and I have no idea why you don't think it can be done. It's like saying that humans can't cut entire forests down. Science deniers are just weird.

Like I said it before and I'll say it again: people who think like this actually have a hidden agenda, money (or are just conspiracy theory lunatics).

Funny, most of us think the people going around calling themselves conservationalists, slashing SUV tires and doing illegal acts of property destruction to promote green, are lunatics. Slash a tire.. Yeah, that's smart. They call someone to come fix it. (another vehicle), buy a new tire (more manufacturing). Just absolutely no common sense.

It's clear to me that you've never left your own home to see the world. If you did you would not limit yourself to just some things you've seen on TV.

You are equating a global fight to make a better world with some people who "cut tires". I guess that's the limit of science deniers.

Hey, I don't care if you feel insulted. Somebody has to say the truth. I will enjoy my summer knowing that you can't make a good argument about all of this beyond "people cut tires" :)
I am curious, what country do you live in? Things in the USA are not like other countries. in the USA, I think at this point and time it's the most screwed up society I can remember. It's turned into the wild west

You are bringing a huge smile to my face to think such things. This has just gotten silly as you know nothing about me or probably 99.9% of the people you have conversations with online. Have fun with your comments.

How can it not get silly when you are trying to justify denying global warming by telling me about how "people are slashing tires" as an excuse. It literally tells me that you don't watch anything beyond maybe fox news and I find this to be very very sad. No wonder the US society is "screwed up", or you can call it "the wild west".

Have fun running from an argument which you can't win using objective reasoning.

Maybe because this isn’t interesting to me. Rather talk about something tech than a drawn out conversation about boringchange.

What "global fight"? In the last decade alone, China is not only building hundreds of coal plants in its own country, it's building hundreds more in other nations around the globe:

"China, known as the world's biggest polluter [is] also building hundreds of coal-fired power plants in other countries ... China is building or planning more than 300 coal plants in places as widely spread as Turkey, Vietnam, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Egypt and the Philippines...."

Stick to the topic in the news article, please.
I don't know what I would do with 100 upload speeds. I don't even saturate 10meg upload. Even with Onedrive for all of my business reports constantly being hammered and in the evening daughters gaming when they get home from College and Work. After 5pm I'm done with anything internet, I get the F@ck away from technology and go to the gym for a few hours.

I know that upload speeds affect twitch gaming, as it helps with latency a little, but aside for rare large file uploads, I don't see the need for it.

I don't know what's involved on the ISP side to make the bandwidth changes. I know our cable modems in the USA use bonded channels to achieve the speeds. On a DOCSIS 3.0 modem, I'm not sure what upload speed can be achieved. If they mandated 100 up. that would mean new modems for just about everyone.

For those not familiar, here is what a my motorola looks like at 200down/10up. As you see, download I can get I think up to 700 meg, but upload only has 8 channels to work with. This is a DOCSIS 3.0 Motorola. One of the latest models.
