FIFA 23 and other EA titles will come with controversial "kernel-mode" anti-cheat software

Thank you Miss Elise Murphy for warning us to stay the hell away from EA's video games and software! We shall avoid them like the plague!

You know who should the least comfortable, MS. Ban this crap immediately.

No it's not for single player or non-competitive online games
If EA is claiming hax can be used in ring 0 yes Microsoft should be cracking down on this stuff being allowed to run ring 0.

I also love cheating in single player games. Red dead redemption 2 needed 3 months of play to max your character. Very grindy, but because of online mode (that I don't own ) I couldn't cheat. Anno 1800 is the same. While rimworld, and Total war are the best games to cheat. Cheating in rimworld is amazing. I am not sure if there are people who don't cheat in that game ...
Very game I used cheats in, I lost interest shortly after. Easy games are boring.

So is the anti-cheat required for offline play??? If it can be uninstalled as a separate part, why is anti-cheat required for running a game that can be played solo?

I am asking the question here not assuming they have done this btw.
This is Elise Murphy's exact words:
"It can also be manually uninstalled by you at any time you choose and will be completely removed from your PC. Please note that if you uninstall EAAC, any games that require EAAC protection (like FIFA 23) will not be playable until EAAC is reinstalled."

Yeah that was what I thought. Ok so solo players like me who don't need or want a kernel cheat protection (which introduces security risk itself) can't play without it - crossing that one off then I guess.

Anyone willing to "trust" EA with this kind of blatantly intrusive garbage is a fool unto themselves. Seriously, how brain-dead does one have to be to buy from EA's predatory platform anyway?

That is NOT a solution. It's little more than extortion. What they need to do in order not to be thieves is to allow it's removal but with single player and local multiplayer functionally intact, blocking online play alone.
