I recently purchased a Crucial 128 mb flash drive to back up a specific folder. When I try to copy the folder into the flash drive on my desktop (P3, 733 w/XPSP1 Home), my Start Menu freezes. I have to remove the drive and restart the computer to continue normally. I also have a P4M, 2.4 laptop with XPSP1 Home networked with the desktop. When I try to copy that same folder to the flash drive using the laptop, it works flawlessly. Can someone suggest why it works on the laptop but not the desktop? Does it have something to do with the speed of the computer? Both use USB 2.0 high speed connections.
