fx5600 crashing

hi everyone. been havin problems wi my card crashing out on 3d games. strange thing is tho it plays black hawk down fine. never crashes but on some games it doesnt even get past the options screen without locking up! then when i press ctrl alt delete to exit the game it puts the monitor into standby and when i turn it back on i get no signal flashin across the screen. have to reset the system. jus wonderin if it could be a power supply problem, heres the system specs
1.2 athlon
ecs motherboard sis 735 chipset
40 gig hd
512 sdram
lite on cd burner
cdrom dvd drive
gainward fx5600 780 card
300watt psu
is there any way to check if its a juice prob? can i unplug the drives to give it more juice or does this not make any diff?

i think a 300w ps should be just fine. you could unplug a cd drive to see if that helps. have you tried updating the drivers for the card at all? and is there a fan on the vid card? if so, is it spining? what is the temp inside your case? it could be a heat issue.
