Samsung debuted its first Galaxy S5 ad during the Oscars yesterday. The commercial focused on the built-in heart rate monitor, which is placed just below the S5’s camera. The device, which sports a 5.1 inch full HD display, is expected to hit the market in April.

In another interesting moment at the Oscars, host Ellen DeGeneres took a selfie with a Galaxy Note 3. With Samsung being the major sponsor of the event, the move was fitting, yet unfortunately the picture came out blurry.

But the moment of the night was when Ellen once again grabbed the Note 3 to take a selfie with a dozen other celebrities including Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Kevin Spacey, and more. Within half an hour, her Oscars selfie shattered the record for most retweets, which was previously held by President Obama's tweet after winning the 2012 presidential election.

Ellen received the confirmation from Twitter and shared the information with the audience. "We just broke Twitter, We're all winners", she said.

Samsung sponsored the award show for the fifth year. The company created a video wall comprising 86 televisions, smartphones, and tablets, showing the footage of nominated movies. It also bought five minutes of airtime for the event's broadcast.

I don't know anyone on that photo. The font in the video is so thin, I can hardly read it. I don't need a heart rate monitor and I don't use a mobile phone. What am I doing on this planet? Actually, I got a life here.

If you don't know who Kevin Spacey is, I don't want you to live on my planet anymore!
